Position Details

Leadership position responsible for overseeing multiple tower construction teams ensuring safety, quality, and timeliness. Bluewave is looking for person to motivate high-performing teams taking on the largest and most impactful projects for out clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Construction Manager is responsible for managing the crew foreman and field employees; ensuring that Foremen duties and responsibilities are met; training, mentoring and developing employees.
  • In addition, there are responsibilities for the following activities: productivity, quality control, labor cost, movement of manpower, procurement of materials and any other activity impacting the successful completion of each project.
  • Coordination with project manager on assignment of the lead Foreman for each project
  • Responsible for monitoring the Company’s assigned projects in the field.
  • Responsible for coordination and/or completion of daily JHA’s. JHA’s to be provided in advance as to allow for customer approval as not to delay schedule.
  • Ensures each crew’s certifications and project specific requirements. The Construction Manager shall confirm each project, project team, individual crew members, sub-tier subcontractors have all certifications, licenses, and documentation available in both paper copies on site and digitally.This shall include, but is not limited to:
    • BloodbornePathogenCertification
    • RF Awareness Certification
    • Competent Climber Card
    • NWSA
    • OSHA 30 Cards for lead foreman
    • OSHA 10 Cards for each crew member
    • CPR and First Aid Competent Person Certified
    • Rigging Plans
    • ROW Permits
  • Understanding of each project’s construction documents, rigging plans, and installation procedures.
  • Provides assistance to the project manager in planning the job, ordering materials, and manpower.
  • Coordination with lead foreman of each crew and compiling of two week look ahead schedule and distribution to project manager.
  • Submits to project manager any request for information required.
  • Informs project manager of any field condition, document issue, or change in condition with the potential

    of cost impacts.

  • Ensures that each crew completes quality daily reports and properly logs. Treat each daily report as if you were going to court in 5 years.
  • Ensures each crew has the appropriate equipment, materials,
  • Coordination of subcontractors. Ensures subcontractors promote and abide by all company policies, guidelines, and overall culture.
  • Reviews and monitors labor efficiencies, hours, and ratios
  • Photo documentation of each project site and uploading to data center.
  • Tracks and monitors materials costs, storage, consumed, and ordered to identify potential problems while minimizing cost and over runs to the company.
  • Ensures Company policies and guidelines are followed.
  • Works with Training and Development team to ensure needed training and certificates (licenses) are completed.
  • Monitors and addresses safety hazards or potential problems with Foremen. Ensures morning and afternoon safety huddles are being conducted with documentation uploaded to data center. Monitoring and commissioning of on-site equipment.
  • Promotes a world class safety culture.
  • Maintains on going and open communication with Project Managers and customers.
  • Monitors codes and specifications, installation methods.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the systems and equipment being installed.
  • Attends meetings with foreman, subcontractors, and others, to keep the installation on track, and address concerns, etc
  • Interacts effectively with clients, contractors, management, and other employees while promoting a positive customer service environment and positive work climate.
  • Visits job sites to walk through projects reviewing and inspecting installation methods and quality of work performed.
  • Meets with Foremen, General Contractor, and site personnel, as needed.
  • Creates a team environment: a positive, well-organized, proactive force to support profit and growth of the Company.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School or GED required
  • 8-10 years field experience including a minimum 5 years as Foreman; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Has demonstrated knowledge of Test Equipment, Sweep, PIM & Fiber, and Certification in each.
  • Has demonstrated knowledge of standard knots, Pass N.A.T.E. Tower Climbers Exam.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Drivers License required.
  • Must be able to meet BCI MVR criteria with approved driver status.
  • Valid (Medical Examiners Certificate DOT Card) required.
  • OSHA 30.
  • Not required but preferred: (BCI will train as required)
    • NWSA – TTTI, II, or III
    • Gin Pol Certified
    • Competent Climber / Rigging
    • RF Awareness
    • Fall protection / Rescue

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb.
  • Ability to work on job site in remote location for extended periods of time.
